# User interface:

## 1. Configuration tab
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Bulletins
|
|
|
_This section filters bulletins and updates selected for staging, distribution and cleaning._
|
|
|
* **Platform:** The platform for which bulletins are selected.
|
|
|
* **Vendor:** The vendor of which bulletins are selected, notice that on platform selection vendors list is filtered accordingly, and selected value is reset to "Any"
|
|
|
* **Patch start date:** The start date of which bulletins release date is equal to or newer than. Note the support of dynamic dates like _(Lastweek, Last Month etc.)_
|
|
|
* **Severity:** The official severity rating of which bulletinsare selected.
|
|
|
* **Applicability min.:** The minimum value of applicability of bulletins to select.
|
|
|
* **Compliance max.:** The maximum value of a bulletin compliance to be selected.
|
|
|
* **Compliance by Updates:** If checked, will neglect Bulletin's compliance and apply the select per each update compliance.
|
|
|
* **Process (disabled by user):** If checked, will force processing of disabled by user bulletins for staging and distribution.
|
|
|
* **Skip Linux Kernel:** If checked, will not process kernel updates. _(Linux platform only)._
|
|
|
* **Only Linux Kernel:** If checked, will only process kernel updates. _(Linux platform only)._
|
|
|
|
|
|
* **Test Only:** If checked, will not perform any actual changes,
|
|
|
just simulates operation based on current UI configuration.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Staging
|
|
|
_Staging configuration_
|
|
|
* **Skip staging:** If checked, will not stage selected updates / bulletins. Note that distribution might fail if updates are not already staged.
|
|
|
* **Download applicable updates only:** If selected, will download only applicable updates, otherwise, will download all updates of each selected bulletin.
|
|
|
* **Max updates per task:** The maximum amount of updates to be included in a staging task instance, on reaching that limit, new staging task instance(s) will be created and run one after another. Value of "0" means unlimited.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Distribution
|
|
|
_Distribution configuration_
|
|
|
* **Skip distribution:** If checked, will not create policies for selected bulletins.
|
|
|
* **Enable created policies:** If checked, will enable the created Patch Management policies, otherwise, created policies will be disabled.
|
|
|
* **Overwrite:** If checked, will delete any policy with exact same name as the _"to be created" _one. See _(Policy Name
|
|
|
Prefix)_.
|
|
|
* **Policy Name Prefix:** If set, will prepend eachpolicy name with the supplied value, default value is "Autopatcher", use "-" to disable policy name prefix.
|
|
|
* **Folder name Prefix:** If set, will prepend created policy parent folder name with the supplied value. By default each created policy parent folder is in format yyyy_MM created under a folder based on the vendor name.
|
|
|
* **Policy Custom Schedult:** If set, will set the creaed policy custom schedule, _(Not overriding maintenance window)_.
|
|
|
* **Target filter:** If a filter is selected from the list of available filters, it will be set as the created policy arget, useful for pilot testing.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Cleaning
|
|
|
* **Skip Cleaning:** If checked, will not clean bulletins by disabling them or delete their associated policies. If not checked and _"Clean compliance end date"_ value is set to disabled, only disable and delete associated policies of superseded bulletins.
|
|
|
* **Clean compliant end date:** If set, will clean compliant bulletins by disabling them and deleting any associated policies based on _"Clean compliance"_ value.
|
|
|
* **Clean Compliance:** the value of compliance on which compliant bulletins will be cleaned by disabling and deleting associated policies, neglected if _"Clean compliance end date"_ is set to disabled.
|
|
|
* **Clean partially superseded:** If checked, will treat partially superseded policies as superseded.
|
|
|
* **Use internal cleaning task:** If checked, forces packages delete / reloaction and does not register "Package Integrity Check" task instance.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
## 2. Run tab
|
|
|
**Run** _(button)_: Start AutoPatcher operation based on the current configuration set by user interface.
|
|
|
**Cancel** _(button)_: Stop the current running Autopatcher operation, does not revert back any changes.
|
|
|
**StdOut** _(box)_: Displays important AutoPatcher messages, for detailed logging check SMP verbose level logs.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
## 3. Bulletins tab (Reports)
|
|
|
**Load All Bulletins Details** _(Button)_: Load All bulletins / updates details, required only once after application start. Note that Running AutoPatcher operation performs the same as a first step, however this information is loaded only once and then cached to memory.
|
|
|
|
|
|
**After all bulletins details load,displays detailed information for:**
|
|
|
* All Bulletins details
|
|
|
* All Updates details
|
|
|
* Distributable Bulletins: _The selected bulletins based on UI configuration._
|
|
|
* Distributable Updates: _The selected updates based on UI configuration._
|
|
|
* Cleanable Bulletins: _The selected Bulletins for cleaning._
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
## Menu items
|
|
|
|
|
|
### File
|
|
|
**Open:** Open saved AutoPatcher configuration file.
|
|
|
**Save:** Save current user interface configuration to AutoPatcher configuration file.
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Operation
|
|
|
**Execute:** Start AutoPatcher operation based on the current configuration set by user interface.
|
|
|
**Test Only:** Will simulate a test run with no actual changes on the system.
|
|
|
**Clean Only:** Will only perform clean operation based on Cleaning configuration of user interface.
|
|
|
**Cancel:** Stop the current running Autopatcher operation, does not revert back any changes.
|
|
|
**Save StdOut to file:** Save the contents of StdOut box to a text file.
|
|
|
**Clear StdOut:** Clears all text in StdOut box.
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Help
|
|
|
**View Help"** Displays this help text.
|
|
|
**About"** Displays application's version and disclaimer.
|
|
|
|
|
|

# Command Line Interface:
|
|
|
|
|
|
`Autopatcher.exe /Config:"C:\Path\to\AutoPatcherConfigFile.xml" /quiet`
|
|
|
|
|
|
If "quiet" is not supplied, a console window will be opened, and the application will wait for <Return> before exit, **thus, for scheduled tasks "/quiet" parameter is required**.
|
|
|
|
|
|
**NB.: Other CLI parameters are depricated, not**

|
|
